@lockursoulnow Fade out the food gradually. So, food every time, then no food one out of three times, then food half the time etc. Make sure they still get some excitement and affection though so you’re still rewarding the behaviour you want. Then, just surprise them once in a while with the food treat. Good luck!

Is he going to give free advice or do we have to pay? I have a really problematic pariah dog, and I want to see my options before I’m forced to go to obedience classes.

You can try exercising her, like taking her on long walks, go jogging with her or play some games with her, until she is tired. Then she will behave no matter if she is on leash or not. She is so hyper because she wants to release all her pent-up energy that hasn’t be released. Follow my method and sent a PM to me to tell me whether she has or has not improve on her behavior. You can also ask me any questions on dog behavior or training dogs. I’ll try my best to help you if I can.

you have to first teach your dog to behave on a lead before off a lead .. one step at a time

What a fun training game. I may try this when we have dog groups over. As a coonhound breeder, I train my puppies to the come command by using it every time they are fed. So from 4 wks of age, they associate the come command with a reward. The come command is such a safety issue.
