I cant get my dog to lie down, when i set the food near the ground after he sits he just tries to eat it or he walks away from my hand.

Yeah well i always try to say it.. So all u did was say “lie down” and she lied down? D: yeah so not gonna work with me
My dog is short too, until I just tried saying the word and I actually got her to do it. She’s a little bit bigger than your dog, because she’s a shih tzu, and does the same thing, but it worked! She now lays down when I tell her too.
yes me to, my chihuahuas sniff the food and trie to get it from my hand, and also with the sitting,i put the food over their head but they would jump to get from my hand

Ugh my dog doesn’t do that
He is very very short. He’s part wiener dog, part chihuahua. So he just sniffs and tries to get the treat when I put it down on the ground like that. Can someone help me?

dont give her the treat until he or she do what u are askin to do but must important practice with your dog
use toys intead of treats if you dont want to use treats
try u lowerin her down n help her out or tied her to the leash until she lays down and then u say down and keep doin it until she or he gets it it worked for my dog.if u are interested messege me n i will send u som videos on how to do it
for you to train a dog u need to have patience with your dog…another way could teach your dog is by puttin the leash on your dog while he is laying down the the word donw give her or him the treat and say good boy or girl n practice with ur dog couple of time until he or she gets it
