when is the perfect point to say “down”? As the dog comes under the knee or if he is laying on the floor?

hes soo wild its unbelevable
my dog WILL NOT lay down on command. He is MinPin/Chihuahua so he is very sure of himself. He does some commands- Sit, Leave it (with anything), but refuses to lay down. he starts shaking like he is in trouble.
I am not sure if i fully agree with treat training.
Perhaps its just teach the dog that we’re the submissive ones. I saw Don sullivans dvd, I’m a bit influenced by him.
Tho there are ppl who disagree with him, I’m just confused.
my dog is SOOOOO willful. he knows he is being trained and he just doesn’t want to obey. He’s a standard poodle. any suggestions?

no im kidding pretty good way if ur dog does stand his back up i guess
but my dog he goes down but ive already used like 3 bags of treats and he still wont go down inless i lure him any help?

i dont know my minupin never does what i want her to she will sit but sometimes he jsut stands there like no other and ignores me does anyone know how to get a dog to stop thinking she is the queen of the house? my minipun is also very mean so other people she thinks she needs all the atenion i need to stop that she bites and barks and ECT..

My Yorkshire terrier mix jumped over my leg to get the treat. She’s a confident dog and refuses to lie down, but rolls over on her back if she senses I’m upset.

does this technique work with small dogs like my minpin?
as your dog goes down say the command and when your dog has held it praise them whilst saying the command thats worked so far for me
